Let your shoppers split a single order by sharing the total among several people. The initiator can add recipient emails and send invitations so each person pays their own part.

How to set up shared (group) payments?

  1. On your Shopify dashboard, go to Split payments โ†’ tick the box Shared payment (or click Edit settings in the Split payments section).

  2. Here, check Shared payment. Optionally, you can check Allow your customers to send invoices to recipients, while not paying for themselves if you want the initiator to only send invoices without paying a share.

  3. Add a tag and set deadline: add a tag (e.g., shared-payment) to easily filter these orders in your Shopify admin (Split payment โ†’ Orders). Next, choose how long recipients have to complete payment (e.g., 1 Week).

  4. Optionally, you can add a tag for intermediate/partial orders that you donโ€™t auto-fulfill.

  5. You can also update (it's optional) the label that appears at checkout for orders placed with split payments.

    Default is SPLIT PAYMENT:

  6. Next, choose where the Split payment button appears on your cart pag by clicking Select under Button placement. Split button can be placed above or below some element.

When you click the Select button here, you'll be taken to your store. Here, on your storefront select the required element while holding the Shift key. Then click Save.

  7. Save & test

Edit email templates (optional) to inform the payers about the statuses like 'Order has been created', 'Deadline is approaching', and 'Payment is canceled'.
