This payment option let your shoppers split a single order and pay with multiple payment methods, for example, several credit cards, or a mix of card and PayPal.
How to set up split payment (for different methods)?
On your Shopify dashboard, go to Split payments → tick the box Multiple payment (or click Edit settings in the Split payments section).
In Split payment → Payment type, check Multiple payment.
Add a multiple payment order tag (e.g.,
multiple-payment
) to help you find these orders in Shopify.
Choose how long customers have to complete all payments (e.g., 2 Days) from the 'Multiple payment deadline option'. This controls reminder/cancel emails if you use them.
Optionally, you can add a tag for intermediate/partial orders if you track them separately (not auto-fulfilled).
Also, you can optionally edit the text that appears on the checkout page when a split-payment discount/adjustment is present:

Decide where to place the button. Split button can be placed above or below some element. When you click the Select button here, you'll be taken to your store. On your store page, select the required element while holding the Shift key. Then click Save.
Save & test. Save your settings, then add items to cart on your storefront and click Split payment to confirm the flow.
