Let your customers divide the total cost of a product into smaller, scheduled payments made over a set period of time.
Steps to Set Up Installment Payments
On your Shopify dashboard, navigate to Deferred payments → Tick the box “Installment payments” type, or click the Edit settings button in the Deferred payments section.
A preview will appear showing how the installment option will display to customers.
Choose where installment payments apply to:
All products
Specific collections
Specific products
If you select specific collections or products, browse the products or collections and select them.
Set Installment Payment Details
For the initial payment, define the percentage a customer pays at checkout.
For the quantity of remaining payments, set how many payments remain after the initial payment.
And for the payment frequency (payment every): Decide how often payments are made (e.g., every 30 days, every 2 weeks).
Optionally, you can create an order tag (e.g., “Installment-payment”) to track installment orders.
Next, you can enable enable installment badge to display that payment with installments is available.
Customize the cart and checkout labels.
Next, you can allow discount codes, this is optional. Here, you can enable customers to use discount codes when paying in installments.
Finally, decide where on the product page the widget should appear. Here, select the Add to cart button placement to ensure customers see installment options before checkout.
When you click the Change button, your store page will open in a new tab where you can set the widget placement.
The widget can be placed above or below another element. Hold down the Shift key and select the element. Then choose from the above or below options. Click Save
