Changelog | Smarter analytics, broader customer targeting & faster activation

Written by Neo

πŸš€ New features

πŸ‘‰ Outstanding amount β€” new dashboard metric

The main analytics card on the home page has been updated to surface a more actionable number: Outstanding amount.

This shows the total amount that has not yet been collected from customers, pulled from orders with the following statuses: Partially paid, Pending, and Need consideration.

Hover over the card header to see a tooltip explaining what the metric covers. Click View orders to jump directly to the Orders page filtered to those same statuses β€” no extra navigation needed.

The Revenue card has been removed from the home page in favor of this more operationally relevant metric.

πŸ‘‰ Customer targeting for deposits & installments β€” B2B and segments (2nd iteration)

Building on customer tag targeting released previously, merchants can now further refine who sees deposit and installment payment options using two additional customer criteria:

  • Exclude B2B customers β€” hide split payment offers from wholesale/B2B accounts entirely

  • Customer segments β€” apply or exclude payment options based on Shopify customer segments, giving you full control over which groups are eligible

Together with customer tags from the first iteration, you can now build precise eligibility rules across all major customer groupings in Shopify.

βš™οΈ Improvements

πŸ‘‰ New deferred payment options created as active by default

Previously, a newly created deferred payment option was saved as Inactive, requiring a manual activation step before it went live.

New behavior:

  • From the dashboard β€” clicking Create deferred payment option now lands on the creation page with the toggle set to Active by default. The option goes live as soon as you save

  • From onboarding β€” clicking Customize split payment option redirects to the creation page and also sets it to Active by default

  • Editing an existing option β€” clicking Customize split payment option from the dashboard opens the page in its previously saved state, so existing configurations are not affected
